Flight Information for New Zealand

Travel dates to The Global Gathering are as follows:

MAIN DATE GROUP FLIGHTS

Depart New Zealand: Wednesday 10 July 2024
Depart Lisbon: Sunday 14 July 2024

OR

Depart New Zealand: Thursday 11 July 2024
Depart Lisbon: Monday 15 July 2024

Group Flights

This year for main date travel there are TWO (2) date options from New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch). Travelling on main dates will give three (3) nights in Lisbon.

Emirates Group Blocks are ECONOMY class only, there are no group seats in premium economy or business class. 
Due to peak season in Europe group blocks are return flights only i.e cannot book one direction flight from group blocks.

Travel Dates (Accommodation)
Please Note: This year 3 nights accommodation will be provided in Lisbon. You will need to select your appropriate accommodation requirement in the registration process i.e if you have selected flight option A arriving in Lisbon Thursday and departing Sunday you will need to select Check in Date: 11 July and Check out Date: 14 July. 

TWIN SHARE partners will only be allocated to delegates staying in Lisbon on the SAME nights. Single supplement upgrade (own room) is an available option. Please refer to the accommodation FAQ's here.

 

Deviations from Emirates Group Blocks - ALLOCATION EXHAUSTED

There are a limited number of changes permitted on the Emirates Group Blocks, it is on a request basis subject to availability.  

Any applicable fare difference and a change fee will be charged and calculated based on availability at the time of request to the airline.  

Only one change can be made to outbound or inbound flight BUT not both directions. 

Note: only a small percentage of deviations will be allowed, as we need to fill the group blocks.  

 

Extended transit time via Dubai

Some of our Emirates Group Blocks have an extended transit in Dubai (up to 8 hours) on the way to Lisbon. We have partnered with Emirates & Arabian Adventures to include a TRANSIT package. Click here for full details.

 

Regional Connections

Domestic connecting flights will be booked for those travelling from regional ports. If accommodation is required at an airport, the GG Air Team will manage this.  

 

Seating, Frequent Flyer Memberships, special meals  

The GG Air team can manage these requests, however where payment is required for preferred seating this can only be done via the Emirates Manage Booking platform once your ticket and PNR are issued to you. You will be required to personally pay for preferred seating with a credit card direct to Emirates.

If you are departing from a regional port, you will have the opportunity during registration to advise your travel requirements by selecting "Other Airport". The GG Air team will be allocating you to an international flight option that best suits connections and availability.

Own Arrangements

Own Arrangements may be available for those who require different flight arrangements to the existing GG group blocks being held.  
 
For those who want to book an own arrangement ticket due to upgrades or personal per/post travel the following criteria applies - 

•    You have fully qualified for Global Gathering 2024
•    You have authorisation from your Team Leader / Business Leader to book your chosen dates (including any extension) and annual leave is submitted and approved.  
•    There are only a limited number of Own Arrangements available, once you complete your registration and own arrangement request the GG Air Team will be in contact with you.

You may not be reimbursed for flights if you book and ticket your own booking through another channel without approval. Approval is required from the Global Gathering team. 
 
No reimbursement will be made for individuals travelling economy point to point on dates that we are currently holding group seats (unless prior authorisation).  

All delegates must arrive in Lisbon by 4pm on Friday 12th July and may depart anytime from Sunday 14th July.  

 

Own Arrangement Allowance
 
The Own Arrangement reimbursement amount will be up to a maximum of NZD $3200 offset against the cost of the airfare and taxes. Any difference in fare or upgrade cost will need to be paid by the individual via salary sacrifice or credit card directly at the time of ticketing.

If the fare booked is less than NZD $3200, there will be no reimbursement of the difference, nor can any excess be used for additional travel arrangements. 

 

Changes to bookings after registration

For changes after completing your registration an administration fee of AUD $200 will be payable via payroll deduction or credit card. 

Changes after your ticket has been issued will result in a fee of AUD $200 plus airline fee and any airfare difference.  

Changes to Emirates Group Blocks AFTER departure are NOT permitted.
