It’s Now Girl – Tomorrow’s Generation, Today.

As part of International Day of the Girl 2021, FCM Meetings & Events has partnered with Australian charity, SolarBuddy and not-for-profit Indigenous education organisation Yalari.org, to champion educational and social change for young women from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.

We’ve also partnered with Marriott International, an organization with a long history of empowering women, joining in the effort to develop skills and opportunities for women providing advancement programs comprised largely of a networking and mentoring structures to help entrepreneurial and aspirational young women to boost their career opportunities.

Last year FCM Meetings & Events in partnership with SolarBuddy, produced the inaugural International Day of the Girl event, It's Now Girl, which explored gender inequality, energy poverty and access to education for young girls. The event also raised over $10,000 for SolarBuddy lights, which were donated to disadvantaged communities.

CHECK OUT THE HIGHLIGHTS REEL FROM 2020

Keen to continue this important work, FCM Meetings & Events and SolarBuddy are hosting their second It’s Now Girl - Tomorrow's Generation Today event on 11 October 2021.

Joining the event this year is Yalari.org, a not-for-profit organisation that facilitates secondary education scholarships for Indigenous children from regional and remote communities at leading Australian boarding schools.

The facts:

- There are currently 500,000 people in first nation communities in Australia without access to a reliable source of energy.

- Only 34% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women aged 15 years and over have completed Year 12 or its equivalent, compared with 90% of non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

This carbon neutral virtual event will include compelling stories and content to highlight where and why change is needed today, for tomorrow’s generation of young women.

By participating in this event, you are supporting a solution that starts with raising awareness of critical issues, provides energy and light for young people to study at night and enables new educational pathways for girls.

Be part of today’s solution and help nurture tomorrow’s generation of female leaders, entrepreneurs and change-makers.
