The information on this site is for students who have been nominated by their universities to travel to Sydney and have received an invitation to register their travel details.

Check your eligibility

Vaccination

All travellers to Australia must complete an Australia Travel Declaration (ATD https://atd.homeaffairs.gov.au/) at least 72 hours before departure. During this declaration travellers must confirm that they are fully vaccinated with a TGA recognised or approved vaccine. Travellers may also need to provide evidence of their vaccination to the airline at check-in and at other points during the course of their travel to Australia. If you are not vaccinated in accordance with the above requirements you may not be permitted entry into Australia and you will not be eligible for a refund of the flights booked through this registration tool.

Visa Status

To be eligible to register for flights under the International Student Arrival Plan you must hold a valid visa for Australia, subclass 500-Student. Other subclasses are not permitted. Your visa expiry date must not be before the date you arrive in Australia. If your visa has expired and you don't have a new visa do not complete your registration.

If you do not have a valid visa in accordance with the above requirements you may not be permitted entry into Australia and you will not be eligible for a refund of the flights booked through this registration tool.

Visa Rebate

Prime Minister Scott Morrison recently announced international students arriving in Australia from 19 January 2022 will have their visa fee rebated for a period of eight weeks (until 16 March 2022)

The students must have arrived in Australia to claim the rebate. The visa application fees will be rebated through the Department of Home Affairs.

CONFIRMING YOUR PLACE

Register your travel details

You must register your travel details, book and pay for your flights through the "Register your travel details" link provided in your invitation email. This link is personalised and cannot be used by anyone else.

Please have the following items ready when you complete your registration:
- Passport details including a photo of the bio page in your passport
- Visa details including your Visa Grant Number (VGN)
- A payment method to purchase your flights (accepted methods include credit card, debit card, WeChat Pay, Union Pay or AliPay)

Please read the instructions carefully and make sure your details are correct before you finalise your registration.

Note: At this stage companions are unable to travel to Australia with you.

BEFORE you depart

Receive your flight summary and e-ticket

You will receive a flight summary email upon the completion of your registration. This email will contain your flight schedule and basic information for travel to Australia. Your e-ticket will be sent to you once it has been issued by the airline. This ticket will provide information on checking in for your flights, baggage allowances, transiting airports and restrictions on liquids (this ticket is not a boarding pass).

Complete your Digital Passenger Declaration

The Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) has replaced the Australia Travel Declaration.

All passengers arriving by air into Australia should complete the DPD. You can start your DPD seven days before your flight and submit it within 72 hours prior to your departure for Australia. This is because you must provide your health information and declaration (vaccination status and COVID-19 test result) within 72 hours before your flight.

When filling out the DPD, you will need to:

provide your contact details, including a contact phone number in Australia
make a legally binding declaration in relation to your vaccination status
make a declaration regarding your last 14 days travel history
make a declaration that you are aware of the quarantine and testing requirements that apply when coming to Australia and in the state or territory you are landing, and the penalties for non-compliance.

Test negative to COVID-19

A negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result is required for travel to Australia. Evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within (72 hours for China Southern) or (48 hours for Singapore Airlines) days before your flight’s scheduled departure and must be provided to your airline when you check in.

Please refer to the Australian Department of Health website for information on what must be shown in your COVID-19 PCR laboratory test result record, the preferred format for your test result record, what to do in the event of a positive or inconclusive test and what to do if you are a primary close contact of someone who has tested positive to COVID-19.

Your airline or local health authority can provide you with a list of recognised clinics, hospitals, or testing centres where you can get tested.

Self-Isolation

From 12:01am on 31 December, fully vaccinated international passengers arriving in NSW must get a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) as soon as practicable and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.
