Travel Insurance

FCTG Global Gathering attendees will be covered for Travel Insurance for the period of the Event.

This will be either via a Company policy or via individual travel policies and will vary from country to country. Details on your Travel Insurance will be provided prior to departure. However, if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact your local Flight Manager.

Australia / New Zealand Travel Insurance Information for employees of FCTG (paid by Paymatters):

The Covermore FCTG (AU/NZ) policy covers some pre-existing medical conditions (see page 8-10 of the PDS). It is your responsibility to check if a medical condition is covered under the FCTG policy. This is a new policy so if you require additional cover, an assessment will need to be completed - please fill in the form on this link https://assessment.covermore.com.au/?alphaCode=AAV1576&groupCode=AA. Please note any surcharge for medical coverage (not listed in the PDS) is to be personally paid and cannot be reimbursed. If you have any questions, please contact: selena.byrnes@flightcentre.com.au

The policy covers travel extensions (total duration of travel no more than 4 weeks) if you are an employee of FCTG (not a contractor) and are extending directly on from the Global Gathering. After reading the FAQ's and PDS, if you have any questions, please contact selena.byrnes@flightcentre.com.au

This policy if for employees of FCTG paid by Paymatters. If you do not qualify to be covered under the FCTG staff insurance policy, please contact Travelwise (travelwise@flightcentre.com) who can assist with offering a discount off a personal policy.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Can my family, partner, friend or non-qualifying work colleague attend the Global Awards Functions?
No, partners are not permitted at any official Global Gathering & Awards functions.

I will be under 21 at the time of the event, can I consume alcohol?
The US law is that you must be at least 21 years of age to drink alcohol. There is a possibility that there will be spot checks for ID (for anyone that looks under 30). Current photo ID is required. If you are unable to show that you are over 21 unfortunately you will not be able to consume alcohol.

Do I need to carry photo ID whilst at Global Gathering?
Photo ID is not required for other main event functions unless you look under 30 (spot checks of ID could occur). The US law is that you must be at least 21 years of age to consume alcohol. Access to any bar/nightclub/casino usually requires photo ID regardless of how old you look. You will require current photo ID (drivers licence OK. We prefer you don't take your passport out in case it is misplaced).

Can I treat the additional time in USA as an educational and use educational leave?
Educational leave may only be used for pre-organised hosted company famils. All staff are required to abide by the FCTG Educational policy and need to be on Annual Leave not Educational Leave in order to participate.

Can I claim expenses as a tax deduction for costs (e.g. meals, taxi fares etc.) while travelling to/from or at Global Gathering where I'm not reimbursed by Flight Centre?
You may be eligible to claim these expenses as a tax deduction on your personal income tax return – please ask your tax agent/accountant for further details.

Why have I not received my Registration Summary or Final Itinerary emails?
